Acura Maintenance Codes
What Do the Maintenance Minder Codes on My Acura Mean?
Acura's Maintenance Minder system monitors your driving patterns and determines when specific services are needed. When your oil-life indicator drops to 15%, the system displays a maintenance code that tells you-and your Acura service technician-what type of service is recommended.
Each maintenance code includes two parts:
- Main Items - represented by the letters A and B
- Sub Items - represented by the numbers 1 through 7
Main Item codes give a general overview of the service required.
- A indicates it's time to replace the engine oil.
- B signals that the oil and oil filter should be replaced and that a more thorough inspection is needed. This includes checking the brakes, steering, suspension, exhaust system, fluid levels, and fuel system.
Sub Item codes specify additional components or systems requiring attention. These vary by model, and not every Acura has the same sub-code list.
